DISCLAIMER: Do not believe anything that I say!  Test everything that you read below against all verses in the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh) and the Brit Chadashah (NT).  Pray for the truth and to be led by the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaChodesh)!  I am not your pastor, preacher, teacher, rabbi, or anything else.  I am just a guy who has an opinion.

Where do you even begin?

This is the question my wife and I had when we first started coming into this understanding.  Do we look to Judah and do what they do?  Do we make up our own stuff?  Do we copy some people we know?

These are all questions that we started with.  The quick answer to all of these questions is: NO.  We need to go back to the prior article where I mentioned that we first need to pray to allow the Ruach HaChodesh lead us.  This is why that is so important.  Do not be led by men or other experts or traditions.  They may very well be right, but you have to be led first and then compare what you know to what they say, not the other way around.  They are at a different time in their walk and it probably is not for you.  I am even going to give you some ideas in later articles, but don’t even listen to those.  Pray to be led by the Ruach.  Maybe you start with a mix of different things and they evolve over time.  That is what happened to us.  The things we are doing today are not the same things we did when we started out in this walk.

First, I would say to NOT try and make too many changes in your life all at once.  You don’t eat the cow all in one big bite, you eat it one bite at a time.  Start with small changes and continue to work your way into changing your life to what YHVH wants you to live.

There are a few areas that are very easy to change in your life with only a little bit of effort.  James, in Acts 15:28 – 29, mentions some things and these are good things to change in your life if you are already doing this:

Acts 15

28  “For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials:

29  that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell.”

This is not what I am talking about.  Ok.  If you are eating meat sacrificed to other gods, stop doing that now.  If you aren’t, here is a quick list that can be a good starting place for you.

Sabbath

Food

We will dig deeper into these.  These are probably some of the easiest things to change in your life.  If you start here, you will see that as you study and learn more and are led more by the Ruach, making more changes to your life will come easier.  Don’t try to do it all at once.  It will be too much and you will probably give up.  Even if you can make that change that quickly, most likely, your family cannot.

Ease into this.  These changes few changes will be all that you can handle at first.  You have to start adapting your life and that alone will create some turmoil.
